With a history dating back more than 6,000 years Aqaba has a long and rich tradition as a strategic trading location within the Middle East.

The Aqaba Special Economic Zone was launched in 2001 as a duty-free, low tax multi-sectoral development zone within the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and encompasses the countrys entire 27km coastline, the sea-ports of Jordan, King Hussein International Airport and the historical city of Aqaba with a current population of 86,000 people.

Situated at the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba, and leading directly to the Red Sea, the city is strategically located at the crossroads of four countries and three continents. The Air Cargo Terminal at King Hussein International Airport Aqaba (a business unit of the Aqaba Development Corporation) is operated by NAS and is being equipped to the highest international standards including dry, chilled and frozen storage in addition to being able to store valuable and dangerous goods.

With newly-manufactured state-of-the-art handling equipment and computerized systems, the NAS facility is set to become a premier air cargo handling operation in a unique geographical location.
